About Wellington Lane

Ivy House, Wellington Lane was acquired in September 2023 – previously known as Caterpillars Nursery. Situated in Farnham, providing childcare for children from aged 3 months through to 5 years of age.

Ivy House, Wellington Lane is a stand alone single storey building with bright and open play spaces. Flooded with natural light and neutral tones our areas of learning are calming yet inviting and inspiring. With a wrap around garden, our little ones have regular access to fresh air and outside spaces. Something we feel passionately about at Ivy House.

Wellington Lane is an intimate and personal nursery setting where each and every family is considered to be a part of the setting and are very much encouraged to be a part of their child’s learning journey alongside and with us. We are located on the outskirts of the town amongst the community, where we strive to build strong links and very much enjoy being a part of.

With a very experienced manager in post we are excited to share our journey in creating a wonderful and inspiring play and learning environment.

Useful Information

We ignite imaginations.

Our play spaces offer a range of learning opportunities for children to explore at eye level, to ignite their imagination and allow them to explore various interests.

We continually update our rooms and keep the resources fresh and interesting.

You can read more on our rooms and ‘Space to Grow’ here.

Nursery imagination table

Our environment is warm, homely and unique.

Our nursery is carefully designed to allow children to feel as safe and nurtured as possible whilst they form friendships, make decisions and learn confidently.

We have taken aspects from The Curiosity Approach and applied these to our unique settings. You can read more on this here.

Funding from April 2024?

At Ivy House we do not charge any consumable costs or any extra on funded days (as long as minimum sessions are adhered to), we simply deduct the amount the local authority give us for the funded hours from your monthly itemised invoice.

We believe in complete transparency when it comes to the hourly rates we are given and the calculation.

ALL funding is worked out for settings that operate in a term time capacity, over 38 weeks of a year. Because we are a full day care setting, we ‘stretch’ our funding to cover all 51 weeks of the year that our nursery is open for.

We do however, insist our minimum sessions are adhered to; 3 full days to be eligible for the 30 hours and 2 full days to be eligible for the 15 hours. All childcare settings have the choice whether they offer funded places or not and, especially with the upcoming changes taking place, but Ivy House has decided to accept all the new Government changes to ensure the nursery is accessible to as many families as possible.

15 hours funding for 3 – 4 year olds

As it stands all children are automatically eligible for the stretched 15 hours funding the term AFTER they turn 3 years old. We require some paperwork to be completed giving us authority to apply for the funding on your little one’s behalf, but this deduction will be automatically appliet to invoices of all children after they turn 3.

30 hours funding for 3 – 4 year olds

There are some eligibility criteria for the extended hours funding and applications for this can be made through the following link:

If you are eligible you will be given a unique code and you must provide this to us so we can claim the funding on your behalf. Ivy House does accept the 30 hour funding but only for children that do a minimum of 3 full days. The application must be made in advance BEFORE the term start date so please ensure you do this in advance or you won’t be able to claim funding for the whole term.

New April 2024 funding for 2-year-olds

This same website has to be used to check eligibility for the new funding for 2 year olds that is coming in from the Government in April 2024.

Again, Ivy House has decided to accept this new funding but for our children who meet the minimum criteria of at least 2 full days. Similarly to the 30 hours, parents and carers will be given a code and this needs to be sent to us in order to apply.

Please find below a table detailing the monthly costs when funding has been deducted. The current funding rates have been used to complete this table (Spring 2024 hourly rates) these are likely to change for April but they won’t go down, if they change it will only be a higher deduction.

From April 2024 our minimum sessions to attend are 2 full days or 4 half days.

Our minimum sessions for the universal hours of 15 hours is 2 full days / 2 half days.

Our minimum sessions for the extended hours of 30 hours is 3 full days / equivalent of 5 half days.

F.A.Q's

How do I go about arranging a visit?

It's quite simple! Either give us a call or send an email and we will arrange a mutually convenient time to show you around and answer any further questions you may have.

Do I need to pay a deposit and registration fee in order to secure a space?

To register your child at the nursery, a non-refundable deposit of £200.00 is payable to secure a place and a £200 registration fee. If the place is no longer required or not taken up the deposit will not be refunded. No deposit is required for siblings if the first child is still attending the nursery but a new registration fee will be invoiced.

Can I add in extra sessions?

Absolutely, so long as we have the space available.

Do fees include nappies & wipes?

Nappies and wipes are included within our fees.

Do fees include formula milk?

Unfortunately we do not include formula milk within our fees and you must provide this where required, clearly labelled and in date.

Brilliant nursery, I can’t fault them in any way. Communication is amazing, the setting is super clean and so well geared up for little ones, their vision for the future is lovely, and most importantly my baby absolutely loves it there, she comes home more independent and grown up after each day she attends and I can see how much good it does her. Every member of staff is warm, friendly and committed.

Personally, I wasn’t ready to put my baby into nursery when I did (she was 12 months old), but I became unwell and I had no choice. The nursery staff couldn’t have been more supportive and made an exception to take her on an ad-hoc basis to begin with, to fit in with my chemotherapy cycles. In retrospect it was the best thing for my baby, she has developed so much and she attends on a regular basis now. If any parents are unsure or nervous, I really, truly could not recommend Ivy House enough. I just have huge gratitude to them for their work.

Review from Amy F (Mother of Child) November '23.

My son absolutely loves his time at Ivy House and literally came out jumping with joy on his first day. The care is outstanding and all the staff are so supportive, friendly and helpful. Communication with parents is fantastic and I’m so happy we are now at Ivy House.

I have used this childcare setting since 2017 and since Ivy House has taken over you can tell they really care about the children. They are very good with my little one and really understand her ways! She is always so happy when going into the nursery and leaving the nursery. I will be soon be putting my 1-year-old into this setting as well.
