Caring for Babies & Toddlers Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we care for babies and toddlers under the age of two as well as pre-school children.
We ensure their health, safety and well-being through the following in many different ways.
Please read the full policy for information.
Environmental Sustainability Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we wish to support children to learn about sustainable practices and foster respect and care for the living and non-living environment. Children are able to develop positive attitudes and values about sustainable practices by exploring solutions to environmental issues, learning about the world around them and how to protect it and watching adults role model sustainable practices.
Late & No Collection of Children Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we offer full day sessions and some morning and afternoon sessions (location dependant). Parents are able to collect their child from the nursery flexibly within this time period.
Our policy here outlines what we do should a parent not arrive on time to collect their child.
Complaints & Compliments Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we strive to provide the highest quality of care and education for our children and families and believe that all parents are treated with care, courtesy and respect.
We hope that at all times parents are happy and satisfied with the quality and service provided and we encourage parents to voice their appreciation to the staff concerned and/or management. We record all compliments and share these with staff.
Mobile Phone & Electronic Device Use Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we promote the safety and welfare of all children in our care. We believe our staff should be completely attentive during their hours of working to ensure all children in the nursery receive good quality care and education.
To ensure the safety and well-being of children we do not allow staff to use personal mobile phones or other personal devices with imaging and sharing capabilities during working hours.
Nappy Changing Policy
Our procedure meets best practice identified by the UK Health Security Agency’s Preventing and controlling infections document.
We enable a two-way exchange between parents and key persons so that information is shared about nappy changing and toilet training in a way that suits the parents and meets the child’s needs.
Infection Control Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we promote the good health of all children attending (including oral health) through maintaining high hygiene standards to help reduce the chances of infection being spread. We follow the health protection in schools and other childcare facilities guidance which sets out when and how long children need to be excluded from settings, when treatment and/or medication is required and where to get further advice from.
Conflict Resolution Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we believe that we have a strong partnership with our parents and an open door policy to discuss any matters arising (if applicable).
If, as a parent, you have any concerns or issues you wish to raise with the nursery then please follow the complaints procedure.
We ask you to read the full conflict resolution policy here.
No Smoking / Vaping Policy
At Ivy House Nursery we are committed to promoting children’s health and well-being. This is of the upmost importance for the nursery.
Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes has proved to be a health risk and therefore in accordance with legislation, the nursery operates a strict no smoking/vaping policy within its buildings and grounds. It is illegal to smoke/vape in enclosed places.
